Lab integration for connected digital healthcare
Healix connects diagnostic labs to the doctors and patients who use the Healix AI-powered digital hospital. Orders arrive from the consultation with context, and results return to the same patient record, so nobody has to chase a report.
What changes for your lab
Structured orders
Receive test requests issued by the doctor during the consultation, with patient details and the reason for the order attached.
Results in the right place
Return lab and radiology results to the patient record and the appointment they belong to, instead of by message or paper.
Informed patients
Patients see their reports in the Healix app. With consent, NORA explains terms and flagged values, and the doctor interprets them.
Controlled access
Role-based access and logging help make sure results are seen only by the patient and the clinicians involved in their care.
How lab integration works
From lab order to result, in one connected journey
Lab integration in Healix means the order, the sample and the result all stay linked to one patient visit. The process follows the same path every time:
- Order: during a consultation the doctor selects the tests. The order reaches your lab with the patient's details and the requesting doctor.
- Sample and processing: your lab collects and processes the sample using your existing workflows and laboratory information system.
- Result: the report is returned to Healix and attached to the appointment it belongs to, where the doctor and patient can see it.
- Review: the doctor reviews and interprets the result. With patient consent, NORA can explain terminology and point out flagged values to the patient.
Works with your existing lab system
You keep your laboratory information system. Healix is designed to connect using healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR where your system supports them, and the connection method is agreed during onboarding. Labs attached to a hospital using Healix and independent diagnostic labs can both take part.
What NORA does with lab reports, and what it does not
NORA includes a lab report helper that can organise results by date, explain abbreviations and units and highlight values the lab has already flagged. It does not interpret what a result means for a patient's health; that is the doctor's role. Read our guide on understanding lab reports with AI to see how we explain this to patients.
Early access for labs
Healix is in early access. We are working with a limited number of labs alongside partner hospitals and clinics. If you run a diagnostic lab and want to receive orders from Healix doctors, request early access and tell us about your current system.
Frequently asked questions
How do labs and pharmacies connect to Healix?
Labs can receive structured orders from consultations and return results to the patient record. Pharmacies can receive prescriptions issued by doctors in Healix and share fulfilment status. Connection options are confirmed during onboarding.
Can NORA explain my lab report?
NORA can explain terms and units and point out values the lab has flagged, so you can prepare questions. It cannot tell you what your results mean for your health. Your doctor interprets results with you.
Does Healix replace our hospital information system?
No. Healix is designed to work alongside existing hospital, lab and pharmacy systems, using healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR where available. Integration scope is agreed during discovery.
Is Healix available now?
Healix is in early access. We are working with a limited number of hospitals, clinics, doctors, labs and pharmacies. You can request early access on the Healix website and our team will contact you.
