How Healix works: one connected healthcare journey
Healix is an AI-powered digital hospital that links every step of care, from the first question a patient asks to the follow-up after a consultation. Here is what happens at each step, who is responsible, and where NORA, the Healix healthcare AI assistant, helps.
The Healix care journey in seven steps
- 01
Guided intake
Patient + NORA
The patient describes what they need in English or Urdu. NORA asks structured questions and suggests the right type of appointment. It does not diagnose.
- 02
Booking
Patient
The patient chooses a doctor and time, in person or by video, and receives reminders. Bookings appear instantly in the doctor workspace and admin panel.
- 03
Pre-consultation summary
NORA drafts, doctor reviews
Before the visit, NORA drafts a short patient briefing from the record: reason for visit, history, medications and recent results, each linked to its source.
- 04
Consultation
Doctor decides
The doctor examines, diagnoses and decides on treatment. NORA supports documentation, and the doctor approves the final note.
- 05
Lab orders and results
Doctor + lab
The doctor orders tests from the consultation. The lab receives a structured order and returns results to the same patient record.
- 06
Prescriptions and pharmacy
Doctor + pharmacy
The doctor issues a digital prescription. A connected pharmacy receives it and can share fulfilment status with the patient.
- 07
Follow-up
Patient + care team
Results, prescriptions and reminders stay attached to the visit, so the next appointment starts with context, not a blank page.
The principle
NORA drafts. Professionals decide.
Every step in the Healix journey has a clear owner. NORA takes on preparation work that usually slows care down: asking intake questions, gathering history into a summary, drafting documentation and explaining records in plain language. Qualified professionals make the decisions: doctors diagnose and prescribe, labs perform and report tests, and pharmacists dispense medicines.
This split is deliberate. AI is good at organising large amounts of information quickly, but it can miss context or make mistakes. Keeping a professional in the loop at every clinical step means patients benefit from faster preparation without handing medical judgement to software. Learn more about what NORA does and never does.
Why a connected journey matters
When booking, consultation, lab work and prescriptions live in separate apps, information gets lost between steps and patients repeat themselves. In Healix they share one record, with access controlled by role and patient consent. That is what we mean by an AI-powered digital hospital: not a replacement for a physical hospital, but a connected layer that helps everyone in the journey see the same story.
How Healix fits into an existing hospital
Hospitals do not need to replace their current systems. Healix connects to hospital information systems, labs and pharmacies using standards such as HL7 and FHIR where available. A typical rollout moves through discovery, integration, a pilot in one department and a phased scale-up. See Healix for hospitals for details.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI digital hospital?
An AI digital hospital is a connected healthcare platform that brings the core services of a hospital into one online journey, with an AI assistant that prepares information for patients and clinicians. It does not replace a physical hospital or medical staff. Clinical decisions remain with qualified healthcare professionals.
Does NORA diagnose patients or replace doctors?
No. NORA does not diagnose, prescribe or make treatment decisions. It prepares and organises information, and a qualified healthcare professional reviews and decides. NORA is an informational and productivity tool, not a substitute for professional medical advice.
Is my health data shared with AI without my permission?
No. Healix asks for explicit consent before personal or health information is processed by NORA. If you do not consent, you can still use other Healix features, but NORA features will not be available. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Does Healix replace our hospital information system?
No. Healix is designed to work alongside existing hospital, lab and pharmacy systems, using healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR where available. Integration scope is agreed during discovery.
How do labs and pharmacies connect to Healix?
Labs can receive structured orders from consultations and return results to the patient record. Pharmacies can receive prescriptions issued by doctors in Healix and share fulfilment status. Connection options are confirmed during onboarding.
